“The Weekender was inspired by our childhood memories of visiting small towns around Australia for a short getaway. With everything that has gone on here in Australia, the bushfires and then the pandemic, now more than ever we need to support our small local communities. We wanted our shoot to remind us of all of those amazing weekend adventures we had as children in our own backyard.
We headed to the small country town of Natahlia to the local motel to re live fun memories of playing on their unique playground, built in 1979 that’s still around to this day, keeping the local kids and short stayers entertained for hours on end.
In true Goldie+Ace style, we were inspired by our own favourite outfits for a short stay weekender during the late 80s and 90s— warm layers in vibrant tones and patterns. Clothes designed for play, designed to be loved and passed on.
