Whether you're working or taking some time off over the holidays, you need some fun activities to keep your little ones busy to dodge that summertime boredom!
1. Build a Slip 'n' Slide!
Grab a long piece of tarp, some baby soap and your nearest sprinkler or water hose and get sliding! This one will keep your little ones cool and entertained on those hot days spent at home.
2. Build an obstacle course
Pretend to be a ninja warrior and see how quickly you can get through the course! Change the course up over a few days to create more challenges. Who knows, there might be an epic prize at the end of the competition...?
3. Take a hike
Get your water bottles ready and head towards a route near your home or take a scenic drive to a distant location.
4. Camping in the backyard
Pitch a tent and bring out the sleeping bags and opt for some star-gazing or shadow puppetry with the torch for some extraordinary bedtime stories.
5. Create a treasure hunt
Do it on your own property or around the neighbourhood! Change things up a little and make it a photo scavenger hunt where the kids need to take photos either with phones or cameras of various things on the list.
6. Host a board game night
Roll up those sleeves for some fun at the dining table! Monopoly, scrabble or even some old-time snakes and ladders - these games will have the kids entertained for hours.
7. Buonissimo!! Create and bake your own pizzas
Let your little ones pick their own toppings and let them help by shredding the cheese, washing the mushrooms and spreading that oh-so-good tomato sauce on the pizza bases.
8. Collect some rocks and paint them
Turn them into pet rocks, garden ornaments, or gifts for the family!
9. Decorate your walkways with chalk
Set up a hopscotch court or let them draw straight from the imagination.
10. Build a forte
Put pillows in the living room or cardboard boxes in the yard with passwords to get in the front door. We can't be letting just anyone inside the forte...can we?!
