You might have heard about what happened at the Louis Vuitton Spring 2022 fashion show... it was hard to miss. Activist Marie Cohuet interfered the show and walked the runway with a branded fabric sign that read “OVERCONSUMPTION = EXTINCTION,” to then be quickly taken away by security.
This isn't the first time nor the last time one of these protests will happen. But as controversial as they are, they bring light on serious matters within the fashion industry.
Fashion is the second most contaminating industry globally and we have a responsibility when it comes to constant production and reinvention.

Overproduction;

noun ~ the production of more of a product, commodity, or substance than is wanted or needed.

Overconsumption;

noun ~ what happens when we use the planets resources at such speed that the ecosystem is unable to sustain them. This causes huge problems to the environment.
As the festive period creeps up on us quickly, we need to re-think the way we consume fashion. What are your thoughts? We'd love to discuss!
Sincerely,
The Goldie+Ace Team
